Outside, the facade has been restored to appear as it was originally built in 1895. Inside, the Danish fashion giant Bestseller has created a 1,300 m2 double storey flagship store, where focus is not only on clothing but also on architecture, art and design in order to provide customers with a complete and unique experience.
The store is an architectural experience in itself with a hexagonal stairwell, in which an elegant staircase leads to the first floor. In the ceiling above the stairwell, the artist Christian Lemmerz has created an impressive work of art which adds an edginess to the minimalistic and exclusive decor.
The floors are a combination of sandblasted limestone and solid Douglas planks. In the fitting rooms, the planks also function as partitions. Several pieces of custom-built furniture, platforms and the large cashier on the ground floor are made of Douglas too. All planks are finished with lye and Natural Oil, which gives a warm and authentic expression.
