London-based Studio McW has completed the revitalisation of this Victorian property in Wandsworth. Arranged over three floors, the studio has succeeded in sensitively extending the property paying close attention to the existing proportions of the original Victorian spaces and features.
True to Studio McW’s signature approach to craftsmanship and wellbeing, Wandsworth Residence is full of light and volume, making it an enjoyable and peaceful space to be. Thanks to colour-neutral materials such as travertine stone, and Dinesen oak, the residence appears simple, yet elegant and cohesive.
As a subtle detail, the Dinesen oak planks are widest at the ground floor, getting smaller as you move up through the floors of the house, giving a sense of hierarchy.
