MARSAN restaurant, which is located at 4 rue d’Assas in Paris Saint Germain des Prés, is a complete refurbishment of the former eponymous restaurant of master chef Hélène Darroze.

The restaurant is designed by GARDERA-D, Patrice Gardera Architecte and is spread over two floors. With references to Hélène Darroze’s land of origin, the Pays Basque and Landes in the south west of France, the ground floor proposes dark hues and organic materials.

A long backlit partition wall made from armagnac colored glass tiles leads the way towards a 6 metre long table, surrounded by wine bottles, where twenty guests can sit together and enjoy a private dinner.

The table as well as the entire floor in this area is in Dinesen HeartOak. The long and wide oak planks continue up along the main back wall where they are used as the canvas of a quite spectacular piece of art. Each oak plank has been numerically printed with a huge scale photography so they together form a beautiful view into the natural Landes forest.
