The Scottish architect firm, WT Architecture, chose Dinesen Douglas floors in this extensive rearrangement of the ground floor of The Sand House. This resulted in spaces flowing into each other, creating a calm interior in contrast to the wild exterior roaming outside by the coast of Scotland.

The exterior changes in design integrated a new garden extension to the C-Listed building in the picturesque seaside town. The work also provided a new library, kitchen, larder and dining space alongside a utility room and bathroom.
The waves are crashing on the shore right outside the window of The Sand House, and the rhythm of the sea offers its residents a meditative experience.
