Islington Townhouse

Islington Townhouse

On the border of London’s pulsing city centre, in a neighbourhood of yellow brick buildings in Islington, this adorable townhouse went through a massive transformation by Maxwell & Company Architects and Designers Ltd. Leaving only the four walls prior to commencing the renovation, the architects modernised this residence with a keen eye for creating light and space using gentle materials, including Dinesen Douglas.

Lonely Melrose

Lonely Melrose

The interior of the new Lonely Melrose showroom revolves around a dialogue between hard and soft surfaces, between confidence and intimacy. Materials and textures are muted, with appealing tactile qualities. In this joint project, interior designer Knight Associates and Lara Hoad Architecture & Design used a palette of Dinesen Douglas fir, elm, aged brass and pitted plaster to create a design that conveys the raw elegance, honesty and simplicity that characterize the Lonely brand. The result is a showroom that makes a romantic statement in a modern vocabulary.

House of Nature

House of Nature

‘House of Nature’ was designed by ReVærk Arkitektur with the purpose of promoting learning about nature and outdoor life at the folk high school Silkeborg Højskole. Standing at the border between the open meadow and dense woodland, the building frames the school’s courses for the students in its Nature and Outdoor Life programme. As a reference to forests and the building’s purpose, this sustainable architecture project is made of timber, with wood used both for its construction and as a consistent visual theme. Dinesen Douglas planks are used for all the walls, ceilings and battens.
